The group

The name on the booking is the name that answers for it.

ZeroLanes is the company a customer deals with, and it is operated by its parent, Black Zero. What follows is how the group is put together, what it is trying to build, and the one idea everything else here is downstream of.

The governing idea

The job is sold under our name, so the job stays our responsibility.

A broker sells a journey, hands it on, and has somebody else to point at when it goes wrong. That is a structure, not an accident, and it is the one this group was built to avoid. A customer books ZeroLanes and deals with ZeroLanes. Which transport company drives the car is ours to arrange and ours to answer for.

  • The price is ours to quote, fixed before booking rather than decided by a meter afterwards.
  • The standard is ours to set and ours to check. A driver or a vehicle without verified documents is not offered work, whatever anyone’s roster says.
  • A complaint arrives at ZeroLanes and is answered by ZeroLanes. There is nobody further down the chain for it to be handed to.
Structure

How the group is put together

Five names, and it is worth being precise about which is which, because two of them are companies, two are websites and one is software.

Black Zero
The parent company. ZeroLanes is its transport business and the only part of it this site is about. Black Zero is at blackzerollc.com.
ZeroLanes
The brand the transport business trades under, and the only name a customer has to think about. In business and partner settings it is written “ZeroLanes by Black Zero”, because a corporate buyer is entitled to know who stands behind the name on the invoice.
zerolanes.co.uk
The booking site. Somebody who needs a car goes there, gets one fixed price before booking, and deals with ZeroLanes from the quote to the receipt.
zerolanes.com
This site: the group, the companies under it, and the people who work with it. Solutions sets out what runs today and what does not exist yet.
The platform
One engine behind all of it: the pricing rules, the way a job is awarded, and the compliance gate. It is built once and shared, which is what lets a second company in the group be a real business rather than a rebrand of the first.
What we are building

Four decisions, not four values

Each of these is something the platform does rather than something the company intends, which is the only kind of claim worth making on a page like this.

The price is settled before anything moves

A customer is quoted one number before booking, and it does not change afterwards for traffic or for a longer route. What the journey costs the group to run is settled separately and never reaches the customer’s price.

Work cannot be won by undercutting

Every job goes out with a floor price no bid can go below, and the award is scored on punctuality, acceptance rate, proximity and trust tier alongside price. A network where the lowest number always wins is a network that pays for it in no-shows.

Compliance is a gate, not a promise

Licences, hire and reward insurance, MOT certificates and DBS checks are verified by ZeroLanes and held with their expiry dates. An expired document removes that driver or vehicle from dispatch automatically, without anyone having to notice.

One set of terms, for everybody

Commission, bidding bounds and trust tier rules come from platform-wide settings rather than a per-company deal. There is no field in which a founding partner can be given better terms than a company that joins later.

We are early, and would rather say so.

Regions open one at a time, so that every area has verified drivers and vehicles behind it before journeys are taken there. Greater Manchester is the first. You will not find a fleet size, a driver count or a journey total anywhere on this site, because we do not publish figures we cannot evidence, and anything that is not built yet says so in those words with no date attached. A date is a promise, and an outside reader has no way to check one.
