Facts, spellings and who to ask.
Everything on this page is here so a story about ZeroLanes can be written accurately without waiting on a reply from us. If you need something that is not here, ask, and you will get either the answer or a plain no.
The paragraph you can quote
ZeroLanes is a UK ground transport company, operated by its parent company, Black Zero. Journeys are booked ahead and quoted at one fixed price before booking, which does not change for traffic or for a longer route. The journeys themselves are carried out by private hire companies working with ZeroLanes, whose drivers’ and vehicles’ documents ZeroLanes verifies and holds with their expiry dates; an expired document removes that driver or vehicle from dispatch automatically. Work is awarded inside a price band ZeroLanes sets, with a floor no bid can go below, on a score combining punctuality, acceptance rate, proximity and trust tier alongside price rather than on the lowest bid alone. ZeroLanes opens one region at a time, beginning with Greater Manchester.
It is written to be used as it stands. If you shorten it, the sentence worth keeping is the one about the award: the whole design of the company is that price is not the only thing that decides who drives a job.
Names, spelled correctly
- ZeroLanes
- One word, capital Z and capital L, no space and no hyphen. Not “Zero Lanes”, not “Zerolanes”, not “ZeroLane”. The name is transport vocabulary rather than a green-energy reference: a lane is an established route between two points.
- Black Zero
- Two words, both capitalised, when the parent company is named at all. This site speaks for ZeroLanes; for anything about Black Zero itself, go to blackzerollc.com.
- ZeroLanes by Black Zero
- The combined form, used in business and partner contexts where the parent company is relevant. A customer-facing reference is simply ZeroLanes.
- zerolanes.co.uk
- The booking site, where journeys are quoted and booked. Lower case in running text.
- zerolanes.com
- The group site: the companies under ZeroLanes, the network and the people who work with it. Not a second booking site.
- Partner, and operator
- The transport companies that carry out journeys. “Partner” is the word used where customers can read it; “operator” is the trade term and is correct in an industry piece. Both mean a separate, licensed private hire company, never a ZeroLanes subsidiary.
The mark
The mark is a heavy, slightly skewed Z with a location pin cut out at each end: the start and the end of a journey. It is a single vector path with the pins cut out rather than drawn, so the same file reads black on white and white on black. The wordmark beside it is live text and is not part of the mark.
Using it
- Take it from the vector file rather than from a screenshot of a page.
- Leave clear space around it of at least the height of the mark’s own crossbar.
- Place it on the near-black or on white. It is drawn to work on both without a container.
Please do not
- Recolour it, outline it, add a gradient, a shadow or an effect to it.
- Stretch it, rotate it further, or redraw the pins.
- Set the wordmark in another typeface, or lock it to the mark as an image.
If you need the mark at a particular size, in a particular format, or with photography of something real rather than a stock car, ask. We would rather send you a file than see one rebuilt by hand.
There is no press archive here, because there is no coverage yet.
No awards, no testimonials, no client names and no customer quotes, for the same reason. We also do not publish fleet sizes, driver or customer counts, journey volumes or funding figures, on this page or anywhere else on the site, because we do not publish a number we cannot evidence. If a story needs one, ask for it: you will be told either the figure and where it comes from, or that we will not stand it up. Anything the company has not built yet is described in those words, with no date attached.
Who to ask
There is no dedicated press office. Write to the address below with Press in the subject line and a person will pick it up. Tell us your deadline: we would rather say we cannot make it than miss it quietly. For background on how the group is put together, the company page covers the structure and solutions covers what runs today and what does not exist yet.
